The condo painting industry has had quite a bit of changes and developments throughout the years. From a fairly simple start, it has developed into an industry which keeps developing to offer a quality higher than ever.

Whether you’re looking to paint your bedroom, bathroom or office, there are several things that you should keep in mind, that might limit your options.

Any modification needs to obey to the design guidelines and regulations set up by the governing body of the city of Toronto and the Condo Board, which may vary for each building. Besides that, it is required for work to be done during specific hours, for there to be a control on the noise created, and for the use of the service elevator. These are all factors that will determine the quality and timing of the work that will be done.

A repaint, or even a complete makeover is one of the best things you can do to your home to increase the living standards and quality, while also raising the market value. A very common practice is to paint the home before you sell it so that it goes into the market for a higher rate.

It is suggested however, that you use neutral colors in most areas, especially in the high traffic areas such as the entrance, main hallways and the living area. Depending on the nature of the space, you can try using more vibrant colors in other areas.

How is the painting done?

First of all, it is agreed upon a color that will be used for the areas. It is highly suggested that you limit your selection to 2 colors per space, since more than that, and it can get overwhelming. The options available for picking the colors are endless, and any color can have a different impact on your psychology. Some colors can get you more active and help you be focused with work, while others can help you be calm and release part of your stress from a long day.

A new paint for your home or office can help the place look more spacey. Depending on the color and how it’s applied, it will revitalize the walls and make the entire place seem taller or wider.

The entire area is cleaned beforehand. One of the last things that you would want to do is to trap dust and particles beneath the paint. The introduction of these factors can also give a different shade to the color that you have picked, and play a role into the painting not lasting as long as it should.

There are various types of paint that you can use, and you might be a bit overwhelmed by all the options that are available. The philosophy behind all the selections is that it is best to use different chemical compositions for the paints for each area. The paint in the bathroom can’t be the same chemical composition as the paint used in the kitchen, since the paint in the bathroom needs to be more resistant to the moisture that is present there, and should be less absorbing. The paint in the kitchen on the other side needs to be more resistant to heat and easier to clean up.

Before painting all the furniture need to be moved and covered. Plastic tarps are the best for this. The covers for the electrical outlets all over the wall need to be removed as well, and painter’s tape is used throughout all the sensitive areas.

Primer is not always necessary to a good paint; however, it is a must-have when you’re changing to an entirely different color palate.
